All students will have Nutrition Breaks at 10:30-11:10am and 1:10-1:50pm. Our class will go outside during the first 20 minutes of the Nutrition Break and then eat in our classroom for 20 minutes. Parents are asked to send two small, healthy lunches and discuss with children what should be eaten, and when. Please do not send Pop or sugary drinks/snacks. We encourage healthy food choices and remind you that Jean Steckle is Nut Free School.
As part of our Boomerang Lunch program all leftover food, containers, recyclables and/or garbage will be sent home. The purpose of the Boomerang Lunch is not to transfer trash disposal responsibilities from the school to home but to encourage parents and students to review and think about the way they prepare and package lunches.
Please label your child’s lunch bag including every container and lid (including water bottles) that you send to school with your child’s name.
