Each month we learn about and focus our actions on a MAVERICKS character trait.
This year, Miss Ronald will be visiting classes at least once each month to engage students in a lesson with discussions and activities about a character trait. See below for a summary of each month so far!
During these lessons students are encouraged to communicate, think critically, and reflect. The character traits are intentionally linked to issues in society to get students to think more about the world around them. We often use unlearn posters as a starting point for having hard discussions.
Ask your child about their experiences so far this year!
In September, we learned about VISION. We learned about Colin Kaepernick and Greta Thunberg and how their life experiences drove their visions and actions to make the world a better place. As a school, we created a 2025/26 vision board where we each shared our vision for making school community better for everyone. Finish this sentence starter, "My vision for Margaret Ave is..." - check it out below!
Stay tuned for what October brings!
