Instrumental

AMI1OX - Grade 9 Beginner Instrumental

This course focuses on instrumental (band) music and is for students with no experience on a band instrument (brass, woodwind, or percussion) or those coming from Avenue Road P.S. Students will spend most of their time learning to play a brass, woodwind, or percussion instrument.

AMI1OI - Grade 9 Experienced Instrumental

This course focuses on instrumental (band) music and is for students with one or more years of experience on their brass, woodwind, or percussion instrument. Most of their time will be spent continuing to learn to play in a wide variety of styles.

AMI2OX - Grade 10 Beginner Instrumental

This course focuses on instrumental (band) music and is for students with no experience on a band instrument or those coming from Avenue Road P.S. Students will spend most of their time learning to play a brass, woodwind, or percussion instrument.

AMI2OI - Grade 10 Experienced Instrumental

This course is a continuation of AMI1OI, AMI1OX and AMI2OX (grade 9 & 10 beginning band & grade 9 experienced band) and focuses on instrumental (band) music. Students will spend most of their time continuing to learn to play in a wide variety of styles on their brass, woodwind, or percussion instrument.

AMI3MI - Grade 11 Instrumental

This course is a continuation of AMI2OI (grade 10 instrumental) and focuses on instrumental music. Students will spend most of their time continuing to learn how to play in a wide variety of styles. Participation in the GCI Concert Band is strongly suggested.

AMI4MI - Grade 12 Instrumental

This course is a continuation of AMI3MI (Grade Eleven Instrumental) and focuses on instrumental music. Students will spend most of their time continuing to learn to play as well as listening to music from a wide variety of styles. Participation in the GCI Concert Band is strongly suggested.

Vocal & Choral

AMV1OI - Grade 9 Vocal & Choral

This course focuses on vocal/choral music and is at a level suitable for both beginning and experienced singers. Students will spend most of their time learning to sing in a wide variety of styles.

AMV2OI - Grade 10 Vocal & Choral

This course is a continuation of AMV1OI (grade 9 vocal) and focuses on vocal/choral music. Students will spend most of their time continuing to learn to sing in a wide variety of styles.

AMV3MI - Grade 11 Vocal & Choral

This course is a continuation of AMV2OI (grade 10 vocal) and focuses on vocal/choral music. Students will spend most of their time continuing to learn how to sing in a wide variety of styles. Participation in the GCI Concert Choir is strongly suggested.

AMV4MI - Grade 12 Vocal & Choral

This course is a continuation of AMV3MI (Grade Eleven Vocal) and focuses on vocal/choral music. Students will spend most of their time continuing to learn to sing as well as listening to music from a wide variety of styles. Participation in the GCI Concert Choir is strongly suggested.

Guitar

AMG2OI - Introduction to Guitar

This course is for students interested in learning to play guitar that have no previous experience. Students will learn to strum chords, explore different playing techniques, and read music. Guitars will be provided. This course is available to students in grades 10, 11, 12.
