what does a typical week look like?
All students attend school two days a week and work in Co-op three days a week
Some students may choose to work in Co-op two days a week, attend Student Success once a week and attend classes two days a week.
what courses do students take?
We offer all the courses required for a Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Our elective courses emphasize Technology, Family Studies and Business. Our courses are offered at the College level.
what is the cost to attend?
There is no tuition fee
Field Trips - $30-50/year
do you offer extracurricular activities?
A gym is reserved for our ELAWS students for lunch hour sports (Volleyball, floor hockey, basketball etc)
For those interested, we offer extra curricular hockey after school on Tuesdays November-March.
what if my child struggles academically?
Once a week we provide a Student Success day. A classroom is supervised by a teacher all day for students to receive the individualized support they need. Some students choose to come to school on this day because they appreciate the classroom structure to help them complete their homework. High needs students should consider a 5 day program at EDSS.
