Our Program
As a drama program, Lincoln High School's and Twelve Bridges High School's drama clubs combine to create both plays and musicals for the community to enjoy!
In addition to offering three levels of drama classes as electives to the students on campus, there is always two full productions every year. Twelve Bridges High School as well as the Lincoln High School both have their own theater with cutting edge lights, sound, a scene shop and facilities. Each theater offers unique benefits so typically the Fall show is housed at the Twelve Bridges High School theater where the Spring show is performed at the Lincoln High School Theater. This is a great way for all students and residents of Lincoln to enjoy what the theater department has to offer.
Our District’s drama program has performed at the Lenaea Theater Festival, winning multiple awards for acting and musical theater performance, has won and been nominated for multiple Elly awards from the Sacramento Area Regional Theater Alliance, and was awarded the Best of 2022 Award for Best Drama Schools in the Best of Lincoln awards.
Mr. Florence has been the Drama teacher at Lincoln High School for over 10 years, supporting hundreds of students find their creative spark and learn the ropes of theatre. He started teaching at both Lincoln and Twelve Bridges High School right after TBHS opened, and now splits his time between the two campuses. Under his advisement, the two schools' Drama clubs have worked together to put on many wonderful productions, ranging from plays like "Little Women" in Fall of 2025 to Legally Blonde: the Musical in Spring of 2022. Outside of the dramatic arts, Mr. Florence has been a leader on both campuses, advising the GSA at both schools and always offering a helping hand to the band, art, and performing arts students in Lincoln.
Mr. Basham has been a volunteer with the LHS and TBHS theatre shows for over 15 years! He builds, designs, and controls all of the sets, lights, and sounds for the productions at the schools. Under his advisement, students are able to learn set-building skills, stage management, sound and light engineering, and more! Mr. Basham's volunteerism and selflessness has allowed our programs to thrive! His final show before retirement will be Chicago the Musical in Spring of 2026.
Mrs. Florence's art classes and artistic ability has helped LHS and TBHS drama behind the scenes and on the stage! As an art teacher at TBHS, Mrs. Florence has lead the charge in making props, posters, flyers, and designs to support the clubs' productions throughout the years. Behind the scenes, Mrs. Florence also coordinates student-parent-club information, student volunteers, concessions, cast parties, and more. As Art and Fashion Club advisor, she often builds connections and community between students by hosting workshops to make props, advertisements, or just to share creativity.
