Python Programming I
Dates: June 23-27
Times: 8:00-10:00
Grades: Entering grades 5-12
Cost: $160
Whether you're completely new to coding or a Scratch expert ready to branch out, Python Programming I is your gateway to the exciting world of text-based programming! Through fun, interactive lessons, you'll master the fundamentals of Python, from variables and loops to creating your first programs. No experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and prepare to dive into an adventure filled with problem-solving, creativity, and the thrill of turning ideas into code!
Python Programming II
Dates: June 23-27
Times: 10:05-12:05
Grades: Entering grades 5-12
Cost: $160
Take your Python skills to the next level with Python Programming II! In this exciting follow-up to Python Programming I, you'll dive into the fascinating world of object-oriented programming, where you’ll learn to create your own classes and objects. But the fun doesn’t stop there—get ready to channel your creativity as we explore game programming, bringing your code to life in interactive and dynamic ways. This hands-on course is perfect for budding programmers eager to expand their knowledge and unlock new possibilities with Python. Prior experience with Python is recommended, and enthusiasm is a must!
Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
Dates: June 30 - July 3
Times: 9:00-11:00
Grades: Entering grades 5-12
Cost: $150
Students will learn how to design and create 3D objects within the TinkerCAD software. Students will also learn how to operate the “Pusa mini 3D Printer.” Then, they will be able to print their designs on the 3D printer.
FTC Robotics Programming
Dates: July 7 - July 11
Times: 8:00-10:00

Step into the exciting world of robotics with our FTC Robotics Block Programming class! Perfect for beginners and experienced robotics enthusiasts alike, this hands-on course teaches you how to program an FTC robot using an intuitive block-based platform. Whether you’re preparing for competitions or just exploring your love for technology, this engaging class offers a fun, supportive environment to bring your robotic creations to life!
Experienced FTC Robotics
Dates: July 14-18
Times: 8:00-12:00
Grades: Entering grades 5-12

Ready to level up your robotics skills? In this 5-day workshop, experienced robotics enthusiasts will dive deeper into the engineering process. Collaborate with your teammates to design, build, and program a robot with unique features, all while honing your coding expertise using block programming. This course is perfect for students eager to expand their knowledge, tackle engineering challenges, and bring their creative designs to life!
Harry Potter STEAM Workshop
Dates: July 1-17 (Tuesday/Thursdays)

Calling all witches, wizards and Harry Potter lovers for a fun STEAM based Harry Potter Adventure! Want to be sorted into your house? Create a magic wand? Make potions? Research Magical Creatures? And so much more! Come join this three week adventure into the amazing Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Summer Theater Camp
Dates: June 23-July 12

We are excited to announce that we will be having for the first time, a three week summer theater camp! The Wilmington Public Schools Summer Theater Camp will combine every aspect of a musical theater performance (singing, dancing, acting, and backstage crew), in a condensed time frame, culminating in performances open to the public! This camp is open for participation for students going into grades 4-8 for the 2025-2026 school year, with opportunities for internships for students going into 9th and 10th grade, and paid assistant positions for students going into 11th-12th grade and just recently graduated.

BBQ Basics
Dates: July 8
Times: 8:00-12:00
Grades: Entering 7-12 (parent/guardians welcome to register; but not required)
Cost: $150
The class will offer an introduction to all things BBQ and grilling. The main focus will be cooking over lower temperatures and indirect heat. We will learn the difference between BBQ and grilling and how to safely prepare, cook and serve BBQ and grilled foods. Students will have the opportunity to blend spice rubs, make a basic BBQ sauce, prepare and cook St. Louis and baby back ribs, one side dish and one grilled/bbq appetizer. All students will leave with their own homemade BBQ rub and recipe packet. A lucky few will leave with door prizes - and let's not forget everyone will eat some really good BBQ and grilled treats! Attend one or both sessions, have a few laughs & eat some really good food!
Thrill of the Grill
Dates: July 9
Times: 8:00-12:00
Grades: Entering 7-12 (parent/guardians welcome to register; but not required)
Cost: $150
The class will focus more on grilling, cooking over high heat. We will learn the difference between indirect and direct cooking and grilling and how to safely prepare, cook and serve grilled foods. Students will have the opportunity to blend spice rubs, make a basic BBQ sauce, prepare and cook less expensive cuts of beef (flank and/or skirt steak), Chicken breast, wings and thighs, one side dish and one grilled/bbq appetizer. All students will leave with their own homemade BBQ rub and recipe packet. A lucky few will leave with door prizes - and let's not forget everyone will eat some really good BBQ and grilled treats! Attend one or both sessions, have a few laughs & eat some really good food!
Etiquette For Everyday
Dates: July 14-17
Times: 10:00-12:00
Grades: Entering grades 6-12
Cost: $160
In this four day course we will cover job interview preparation, table manners, networking, and conversation skills. We will hold mock interviews, review dining etiquette for formal situations, and learn how to talk to anyone. Etiquette for Everyday empowers teens to feel confident in social situations and prepares them for life beyond the classroom.

Summer Program Guidelines
Payment can be made via check to Wilmington High School. Write your child's name & course(s) in the memo section. Mail check to 159 Church Street Wilmington, MA 01887 or drop it off at the WHS main office c/o Matt Hackett, Summer Enrichment. Payment is due upon registration. No refunds will be issued. Registration will not be considered complete until payment is received. All students are expected to adhere to the guidelines and expectations as stated in the student handbook. Failure to meet these expectations can result in a dismissal from summer school. Please contact Matt Hackett (matthew.hackett@wpsk12.com) or Mike Jones (michael.jones@wpsk12.com) with any questions. Good behavior is MANDATORY to remain in the summer program. Any student who is disruptive in class, disrespectful toward another student, or to any adult associated with the summer program will be excluded from the program and no refund will be issued. ALL rules as outlined in the WHS Student/Parent Handbook are in effect during the summer program.
