WHAT IS EMPTY BOWLS?
Empty Bowls was originally founded in 1990 by Michigan high school teachers Lisa Blackburn and John Hartom to give high school students a chance to impact the local community, the Empty Bowls project has become a prominent national and international movement with local potters, churches, artist organizations and schools. For more information, please visit www.emptybowls.com.
Step 1
Purchase a ticket online or when you arrive, you can make a donation of $15 or more, and be welcomed at a table loaded with nutritious food and other tasty treats.
Step 2
Afterwards, you'll select one of the those beautiful empty bowls and take it home as a token of our thanks and a reminder of the many empty bowls all around the world that need our ongoing help.
Step 3
Your donations go to the Council of Social Concern (Woburn, MA) to be used for their Food Pantry program that works to alleviate local food insecurity.
WHS's Clay for a Cause Club, along with the help of Ceramics students and Art Club, are proud to donate over 150 lovely handmade bowls for our April 13th event, with proceeds going to Woburn's Council of Social Concern Food Pantry, dedicated to fighting hunger and building healthy communities. Held in Wilmington High School's own cafeteria, this fun and social event features delicious food, entertainment, and a beautiful selection of handcrafted bowls, made by students and staff from WHS.
So please join us for this year's inaugural event. It will be fun to have you join us, and you'll have done something good for people who need your help!
