I was a School Counselor first in Newburyport at Brown and Bresnahan Schools for the Pre-School and Kindergarten level and now here at Shawsheen School in Wilmington.
I am passionate about public education and have worked in education since 1994. I earned my Master's Degree in School Counseling in 2010 because I have a particular interest in the Social, Emotional and Behavioral Health of students. Students are ready to learn when they are adjusted to school and the earlier we as educators can implement interventions to support students, the better.
Personally, I live with my husband and daughter in Reading; our two boys are grown and flown. I wish I had more time to read during the busy school year, but I make up for it in the summer! My husband and I are the proud co-founders of a non-profit organization, Samantha's Harvest, a registered 501(c)(3) that raises funds and awareness for organizations that support people with Down syndrome. Like your family, we are very busy and long to find more down time to spend together!
