Ms. Reed graduated from West Platte in 2010. Since starting her career in school counseling, she has always hoped she would have the opportunity to return to West Platte.

After graduating high school, she attended the University of Missouri and received her Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis in Child Life. Ms. Reed started her professional career as a Certified Child Life Specialist working in pediatric hospitals in Memphis, TN, Dallas, TX and Kansas City, MO. As a Child Life Specialist, she worked with the multidisciplinary medical team to meet the social and emotional needs of patients and families as they navigated and coped with being in the healthcare setting.

Ms. Reed returned to Kansas City in 2016 and obtained her Graduate Degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in School Counseling. For the past three years, she has been working as a middle school counselor at South Valley Middle School in Liberty Public Schools and serving as the student council advisor.

Ms. Reed is extremely grateful to serve a community that helped shape who she is as a person and gave so much to her growing up. She hopes to provide a positive impact on the students, families and community as she helps to create a unique, supportive and memorable middle school experience for West Platte students.
