Program Overview
The Teacher Induction program is a year-long program that combines mentorship, collaborative learning, and professional development to support new teachers in their practice. The program is open to all teachers who currently hold an Instructional I, Educational Specialist, Emergency, or Intern certification. All educators are required to complete Induction in order to convert their Instructional I to an Instructional II certificate.
The page can be used to learn more about our session offerings, review induction expectations and access mentoring resources.
Attendance & Participation Expectations
Induction Participants are expected to attend all Induction sessions. We understand that life happens and that there may be an extenuating circumstance where you have to miss a session. If that happens, participants are expected to communicate with the Executive Director of Human Resources directly in order to develop a plan to make up the content you missed. In order to successfully complete Induction, you may not miss more than ONE session.
Mentor Program
All Induction participants will be assigned a mentor to support their growth and development throughout the program. Information about Induction Mentor requirements, expectations, and payment will be shared via email, and discussed in depth with mentors and mentees.
