Description: Professional Development sessions will follow the respective start times of the elementary, middle and high schools. Sessions will be school-led to support the needs of each individual building and job function. School leadership will provide their staff with a detailed agenda for the day. To ensure all staff can participate in the Spring Convocation, please adhere to the following schedule for your designated locations and times:

7:30 AM - 8:30 AM Penn Wood High School and Ninth Grade Academy staff report to Penn Wood High School (PWHS).

8:45 AM - 9:45 AM All Elementary School staff report to the Ninth Grade Academy

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Penn Wood Middle School staff report to Penn Wood Middle School (PWMS).

Description: This professional development session will delve into the core principles of the Science, Technology & Engineering, Environmental Literacy, and Sustainability (STEELS) standards, focusing on how to empower students to explain phenomena and solve problems.  Participants will explore how the three dimensions of science learning —Disciplinary Core Ideas (DCIs), Crosscutting Concepts (CCCs), and Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs)—work together to drive student learning.

Description: This is a follow-up planning session for the WPSD Music and Arts Festival scheduled for June 5, 2025. During this meeting, we will review the notes from our previous session and confirm key details, including event logistics, technical requirements, the performer lineup, and the visual arts component. The goal of this session is to promote effective collaboration, ensuring a successful and enriching festival experience for our students, families and communities.

Description: School-based mental health professionals will attend a full-day professional development session designed to inform, support, and connect those working on the front lines of student wellness. This PD will explore timely and impactful topics, including:

• Current Drug & Social Media Trends – Understand the evolving digital and substance use landscape impacting our students.

• Vicarious Trauma – Learn tools to recognize and respond to secondary trauma in yourself and colleagues.

• Delaware County Mental Health Resources – Get updates on available countywide supports and how to access them.

• Lunch & Learn Networking Opportunity – Share insights and build connections with school counselors, psychologists, social workers, and home & school visitors from across the region.
