Professional Development Site: Home Building
Description: Professional Development sessions will follow the respective start times of the middle and high schools. Sessions will be school-led to support the needs of each individual building and job function. School leadership will provide their staff with a detailed agenda for the day. All Secondary science teachers will participate in the STEELS session in the afternoon (see details below).
Audience: All William Penn Staff
Description: Teachers, counselors, administrators, and paraprofessionals who will be acting as TAs and/or Proctors along with staff handling or having access to secure test material should attend the school-specific training led by their School Assessment Coordinator (SAC). Any person who will be assisting test administration in any capacity must complete the Pennsylvania State Test Administration Training (PSTAT).
OTHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OFFERINGS
Audience: Tier 2 and 3 Intervention Providers (MTSS Champions)
Description: Participants of this session will be able make the most out of Panorama’s intervention plan tracking features. They will learn how to find and internalize plans they are the champion for, and how to leverage the platform's progress monitoring tools to keep track of which students are receiving intervention regularly and what impact it is having on their attendance, academics, and or behavior.

Description: Participants in this session will learn how to record the action they are taking to support students who show early signs of struggle in academics, behavior, or attendance. If students do not respond to this Tier 1 support, participants will learn how to refer students for greater support from the MTSS committee.

Description: This professional development session will delve into the core principles of the Science, Technology & Engineering, Environmental Literacy, and Sustainability (STEELS) standards, focusing on how to empower students to explain phenomena and solve problems. Participants will explore how the three dimensions of science learning —Disciplinary Core Ideas (DCIs), Crosscutting Concepts (CCCs), and Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs)—work together to drive student learning.

Description: We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with Garrett Williamson to provide an enriching Agriculture Education Program for our 5th-grade students this March and April! This program offers a unique opportunity for students to connect with the land and dive deeper into agriculture, aligning with our new STEELS standards related to Environmental Literacy & Sustainability. We will be hosting a virtual information session for teachers and principals on March 3rd at 3:00 PM to discuss expectations and answer any questions you may have. Description: A comprehensive overview of essential lifesaving skills, with a primary focus on CPR, First Aid, and AED use. Participants will learn fundamental first aid principles, including basic CPR techniques, wound management, hemorrhage control, and proper use of tourniquets and hemostatic agents. The course is designed to address the specific needs of the participants, ensuring practical knowledge and confidence in emergency situations. Upon successful completion, participants will earn a Heart Saver Certification, valid for two years, demonstrating their proficiency in critical life-saving techniques. ** Must Preregister w/ Student Services by March 1st**
