Sessions will be school-led to support the needs of each individual building and job function. School leadership will provide their staff with a detailed agenda for the day.

Audience: All Instructional Assistant and Paraprofessionals
Description: All Instructional Assistants must complete the two modules updated on the Framewelder Course by June 30, 2024 (see below). As such, it is the expectation you use the two hours of self-selected/differentiated time on Tuesday to complete the sessions. Please plan on borrowing a Chromebook/technology device if needed. You can watch the sessions and complete them on a phone or tablet, but the assessment may not work on those devices. As such, again, please plan on borrowing a Chromebook or other laptop, if you do not have your own.

Description: The School Health Program is the oldest program of public health services in Pennsylvania, with responsibilities predating 1895. The program serves all children of school age attending public, private and non-public schools in Pennsylvania and is responsible for providing technical assistance, training and coordination of programs and services to schools, parents and the community at large regarding school health programs and services.

Description: The goal of this course is to educate school staff in the proper use of de-escalation strategies in properly managing student behavior. Topics covered include the Conflict Cycle and preventative measures, the development of meaningful relationships, how to recognize signs of escalation, and de-escalation tips. Description: School secretaries can access various training courses on the Vector Solutions platform by searching the course name under the "Extra Training" page. Description: The training focuses on the following topics: essential elements of the Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law, facts about child abuse, mandatory reporting of suspected child abuse and sexual misconduct. The training will provide school employees with the information they need to know regarding the basics of Pennsylvania law involving child abuse and student abuse as well as their duty to report abuse.
