Description: This session will explore the effects of truancy and poor attendance on students, families, educators, and overall district performance. Participants will also receive important updates on the district’s attendance monitoring process and learn about recent changes to the truancy communication protocols. This training is essential for staff involved in student support, attendance tracking, and family engagement.

Description: This session is an upgrade from the intermediate-level ParentSquare training and is intended for staff already familiar with the platform’s basic functions. The facilitator will walk through additional tools and features, including how some buildings will use ParentSquare this year for tasks such as sending attendance letters, collecting parent signatures on important documents, and streamlining other communications. Participants will gain practical insights to enhance school-to-home engagement and improve workflow efficiency.

Description: The Welcome Back to School PD Session will bring together nurses, social workers, and counselors to prepare for the year ahead. The session will cover new assignments and locations, scheduling expectations, and important updates including contracts and available resources. Participants will also discuss strategies for working together to meet shared goals and ensure strong student support. The session will conclude with a Q&A to address any outstanding questions and provide clarification.

Audience: Nurses
Description: This one-hour interactive training is designed for school nurses to strengthen their ability to recognize and respond to suspected opioid overdoses among students. The session will cover how to assess students for signs of opioid use, the steps to take in a potential overdose situation, and the use of naloxone as a life-saving intervention. Participants will engage with combined training modules that provide an overview of the SAVE ME Steps for responding to a drug poisoning using either intramuscular (injectable) or intranasal (nasal) naloxone. Please note that the unregulated drug supply remains unpredictable, and guidance on recognizing and responding to overdoses may evolve. This course equips nurses with the essential knowledge and competencies required to intervene quickly and effectively to save lives.

Audience: Departmentalized Elementary Math Teachers
Description: This session will explore how to engage students using opening routines to activate prior knowledge, increase perseverance, and set the context for a lesson. We will analyze and design routines that utilize a "low floor, high ceiling" approach to support various entry points and solution strategies for all learners. You'll leave prepared to facilitate these routines by highlighting student thinking and making clear connections to your lesson's mathematical goals.

Description: This professional development session focuses on designing aligned assessments based on the Science, Technology & Engineering, Environmental Literacy, and Sustainability (STEELS) standards. Participants will learn how to unpack the STEELS standards to identify what students need to know and be able to do. The session will then guide educators in developing assessments that provide clear evidence of student understanding of phenomena and their ability to solve problems. Finally, participants will use these assessments to develop targeted and effective learning plans that are directly aligned with the standards.
