Hi! Welcome to North (virtually). This month we are celebrating the accomplishments and triumphs over adversity of Black Americans in all fields. The work you see in this site was created by our students and facilitated by our amazing teachers. Before you explore the site I wanted to let you know that our focus was only Black excellence. However, many of the people we are talking about today were treated in ways that were wrong and were spoken to in ways that used inappropriate terms. Society commonly used terms like"negro" and "colored" to speak about Black people. Now we use the correct terms of Black or African American. However on this site in educational context, those terms may appear as the stories of these great people is being told. We cannot apologize for people of the past but if you feel those terms or some of the things that happened to these individuals is triggering we understand and wanted to let you know because of history some of the topics may be triggering. However, as stated our focus is Black excellence. Please enjoy it with us! Thank you!

¡Hola! Bienvenido al norte (virtualmente). Este mes estamos celebrando los logros y triunfos sobre la adversidad de los afroamericanos en todos los campos. El trabajo que ves en este sitio fue creado por nuestros estudiantes y facilitado por nuestros increíbles maestros. Antes de explorar el sitio, quería informarle que nuestro enfoque era solo la excelencia negra.
