Kickoff Meeting - 7 February
Gift Ideas
Team, here are some additional gift and drink ideas for the 2024 grad luncheon. I really like dea of a key chain or pen and journal, but I wanted to present more options after I attended the meeting. I am looking at gifts for $9 a cadet or less. I found the following ideas on Etsy in this price range. One idea for gifts is a personalized garnish cutting board or charcuterie tray...since when life gave them lemons, they made lemonade. The drink could be lemon/lemonade themed as well. Lemons could go in the tote bag with the cutting board. I personally like this idea because the 2024 moms lamented on Facebook about the tough hand they were dealt. We could also get a custom embroidered baseball cap for that price. This would be perfect for the summer weather, and for pics on graduation day. Personalized shot glasses and aprons would also be in our price range.
I hope these ideas get everyone's creative juices flowing!
I love the charcuterie board and lemon idea!
As a 2024 parent, I’d prefer to not be reminded of the experience, so I’m not a fan of the lemon idea. That said, I’d love to hear how the other 2024 parents on this distro feel. I am just one data point.
For the gift, we tend to go with portable items that would be fun and/or useful for newly commissioned officers who are heading off to multiple training locations before they settle down for very long. As adorable as the charcuterie board idea is, my son would probably leave it with me which would add it to the many WP items he is saving for later in life.
