My career at Woods Intermediate began in Fall 1998. I begin my journey with only one year of experience as a band director and learned that elementary music is the place for me! Every year holds a new adventure with old and new students. I find the most rewarding part of my job is seeing my students grow musically and physically during the three years I'm "blessed" to teach them in music class.
My love of music began when I started beginner band as a 6th grader on the flute. I participated in band during junior high, high school and college. Through auditions, I was selected to play in the All-Region Band for four years and attended UIL State Solo & Ensemble during high school. After high school, I attended the University of Houston and Stephen F. Austin State University. I completed my bachelor's degree in Spring 1997 at Stephen F. Austin State University with major in Music Education. During the summers of 1999, 2000 and 2001, I completed training for Levels I, II and III in Orff Schulwerk at Southern Methodist University. On a personal note, I am married to Roger and have two beautiful and talented daughters, Grace(20) and Emily(18) and an amazing son, Nick (21). Grace is a poultry science major at Texas A&M- College Station and Emily is a Digital Media major at Tarleton State University. Life keeps me busy by taking care of my family and also taking care of my furry friends. We have a dog, 2 cats, 2 bantam chickens and a pet turtle. When I have time, I listen to music, enjoy my family and friends and travel to see my daughters in college.
