We are excited to announce an opportunity for students in grades 10-12 to join an international service trip to Costa Rica, March 11-20, 2027. Students will participate in hands-on conservation projects supporting Costa Rica’s biodiversity and wildlife. We have partnered with Projects Abroad, a well-established volunteer organization used by many CAIS schools, to offer this initiative.
This trip is an opportunity for students to step outside their familiar surroundings, experience a new culture, form meaningful relationships, and contribute directly to wildlife conservation through hands-on service. Along the way, students will be challenged to learn more about themselves, develop a deeper understanding of their responsibilities as global citizens, and consider how they can make a positive difference in the world around them.
Attend all mandatory pre-trip meetings (1 x week January-March- lunch or after school TBD)
Participate actively in preparation and team-building.
Engage fully in service activities.
Be respectful of local customs and culture.
Follow all school and trip expectations.
Demonstrate responsible and mature behaviour.
Support fellow students.
Participate in reflection and post-trip learning activities.
Represent our school positively throughout the trip.
Note: This will be a cell phone free trip. The goal is to connect with each other and the local community.
