Meet Our 2026 Guest Artist:
Pete Mangum—Serving White Pine Through Agriculture, Education, and Art
The White Pine Children’s Art Festival is excited to welcome local agricultural leader, educator, and artist Pete Mangum as our featured Guest Artist this year!
Pete is a familiar face throughout White Pine County. He serves as a Community-Based Instructor with the University of Nevada, Reno Extension, is a local brand inspector, and has spent many years supporting youth through 4-H and service in local schools and the school board. Along with his dedication to agriculture and education, Pete has a lifelong passion for creating art.
As both a painter and sketch artist, Pete captures the beauty and spirit of rural Nevada in his work. His recent solo exhibition, Ranch Life, at the Ely Art Bank celebrated the landscapes, livestock, and hardworking people who make our rural communities so special. His artwork is a wonderful reminder that inspiration can be found all around us—from wide-open valleys and mountain ranges to the everyday work happening on our local ranches.
During this year's festival, Pete will be teaching classes in three-dimensional drawing and perspective, helping students learn techniques that create depth, distance, and realism in their artwork. We are excited to have Pete share both his artistic talents and his passion for creativity with our festival participants.
The White Pine Children's Art Festival – Elements of Art 2026 is free to attend thanks to the support of our community.
Donations are always appreciated.
