MEET YOUR TEACHERS

Reading- Mensinga Hi! I am the 6th grade reading teacher. I have been teaching in the district of Worth for 8 years now. What's even more interesting though is that I grew up in Worth, I am a WorthWoods alumni and WJH grad. I look forward to fostering your love of reading this year and exploring new digital means to do so. Remember that readers are leaders!

Language Arts-Mrs. Gawel

Welcome to 6th grade. I am Mrs. Gawel and I have been teaching 6th grade for the past 27 years. This year's goal for me is to cultivate confident writers. Students will learn the 6 traits of writing in order to become stronger writers.

Math- Mr. Rolence

Hello! My name is Mr. Rolence and this is my first year teaching. I recently graduated from Marquette University and I am very excited to meet all of you! I believe that all of you have the ability to succeed in math and this year we will all work together to make the best of this crazy school-year!

Science- Mrs. Plotke

Hi Class!I am your 6th grade science teacher. My name is Mrs. Mary Plotke. I am so looking forward to meeting all of you! This is my 14th year teaching science at Worth Jr High. I love anything related science and especially completing experiments. I hope to have you complete some virtual labs this year and some on site when we return. Looking forward to this ground breaking year in history with remote learning!

Social Studies- Mr. Hankin

Hello from the world of social studies! I have been teaching social studies for 10 years. This is my 3rd year teaching at Worth Junior High School and I am very excited to start working with my new students! Though we will be starting the school year as remote learners, we will use this course to help explain current events as we explore ancient civilizations.

Intervention Specialist- Mrs. Stage

Hi everyone! Welcome to 6th grade at WJH! I have been teaching for the past 5 years in Special Education. I am very excited about working with the students this year! My philosophy for learning is that each child is unique, and each child learns in a different way. Collaboration, cooperation, and open communication between home and school are keys to building a strong foundation for a successful school year!
