history of ram radio

The online station started in September 2012 using the broadcast students at Worth County High School. Many folks have listened to the station in various locations around the world to keep track of football games, etc.

Low Power FM station 102.7 began as a construction permit in January 2014. Call letters WCHS-LP were assigned (with permission given by WCHS-TV and WCHS-AM in Charleston, WV) and construction began. Art Sutton, native son of Worth County, purchased and installed the equipment in honor of his parents Mack and Judy Sutton of Sumner. WCHS-LP began broadcasting on 102.7 in September 2014.

The radio station stopped broadcasting for a short time while the new high school was being built. The radio station began broadcasting again in 2019 and began streaming again on the internet in 2021.
