Chris Leyva (Director) lives in Columbus, OH and is originally from Albuquerque, NM. He is thrilled to be directing PETER PAN and to be spending time in the magic of Neverland! His play, THE THRONE OF OZ, based on the book "The Marvelous Land of Oz" by L. Frank Baum, will premiere in May 2018 as part of the CATCO is Kids 2017-2018 season. He was a recipient of the CATCO and Greater Columbus Arts Council Playwright Fellowship with his play BOOKS & BRIDGES, which was also a Semi-Finalist for the Trustus Playwrights Festival in Columbia, SC. Other plays include: COWGIRLS DON’T RIDE ZEBRAS, world premiere by CATCO is Kids; WEIRD SISTERS: THE LEGEND OF TATTERHOOD and PERSEPHONE UNCUT, both commissioned and performed by Columbus School for Girls. As a director, Chris mounted productions of THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO and THE MAGIC FLUTE for Coópera: Project Opera of Manhattan in New York City, also writing an English adaptation of the scene dialogue for the latter.
Megan Overly is excited to join the creative team for the Worthingway Arts Program! She recently choreographed Peter Pan Jr. at Jones Middle School, and Junie B Jones, Lion King, KIDS, and Once on This Island, Jr. at Columbus Children's Theatre. Megan has appeared in several productions throughout the Columbus area, including Christmas in Columbus at Short North Stage, Mary Poppins with the Pleasure Guild of Nationwide Children's, and Beauty and the Beast at Columbus Children's Theatre. In her previous life, Megan danced professionally with Ballet For Young Audiences in New York City, and appeared in several regional musical theatre productions. Currently, Megan is a mom of two children, a yoga practitioner, and a proud resident of Worthington! She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Ballet from the University of Cincinnati's College--Conservatory of Music, and a Juris Doctorate from the Ohio State University's Moritz College of Law.
Jacob Reed (producer) began composing in high school at the Durham School of the Arts. He received his Bachelor’s of Music Education, and Masters degrees in both Music Composition and Music Theory from the Ohio State University. His music has been heard throughout the country including at the Spark Festival at the University of Minnesota, the University of Central Missouri’s New Music Festival, the University of Central Michigan New Music Ensemble, the Tutti New Music Festival at Denison University, Seattle WA, Layola Marymount University, and The Governor’s School of North Carolina. An evening of his music was presented at the McConnell Arts Center in Worthington, and he was commissioned to create a new composition for the Columbus Bicentennial celebration “Finding Time” in 2012. He has been a music educator for 15 years, and also plays jazz drums at venues throughout Columbus.
