The intended Campaign Camp audience is Activists, Volunteers, Candidates, Campaign staff, WFP Staff (as assigned based on skills needs and personal interest), State Committee or National Affiliates, and close partners.
This is an unpaid opportunity. But it’s also free for all participants.
We are able to accommodate a relatively high number of trainees in each session, for now count on there being a spot for everyone interested.
No! Folks can choose to attend these à la carte as you see fit. But there will be a volunteer cohort who will be obligated to the whole program and receive incentives for completing it.
Campaign Camp will be produced in English and there will be live interpretation in Spanish and ASL.
The Campaign Camp will be fully virtual. Local teams should feel free to arrange an additional in-person gathering if there is interest in giving local participants a space to meet each other and build community and Covid precautions are complied with.

Intro to WFP: Activists, Elections & Building Power
This session focuses on the following concepts:
Contextualizing WFP as an independent political party
Discussing elections as one of the movement’s many tools for change
Debunking some myths about winning an election
Thursday JUNE 6, 2024
The Role of the Candidate
This session focuses on the following concepts:
Outlining a clear definition of a candidate for elected office, including the actual role and responsibilities of the candidate
Managing expectations of what a candidate has to do to be prepared to run for elected office
Exploring a brief overview of the timeline of a campaign

Fundraising for the Revolution
This session focuses on the following concepts:
Figuring out how much money is needed to raise to win and who can raise it
Understanding who gives resources (time/money) and why
Explaining how to build a fundraising life list, design a budget, develop a fundraising program, and craft a pitch
Gaining tips for navigating electoral rules and regulations

This session focuses on the following concepts:
Understanding how to target voters to win campaigns, including how to calculate turnout, win numbers, ID goals, and universe sizes.
Determining how to think through which voters, and potential voters, to direct field and communications tactics toward.

Learning what a campaign message is and is not, as well as what makes a good campaign message

Discussing how to build a comprehensive plan which details the goals, strategies, and tactics necessary to execute a successful campaign
Developing campaign plans that work back from anticipated voter turnout and a calculated win number
Introducing how to utilize grassroots volunteers to help achieve field goals and a victorious campaign.

Values-Driven Campaign Management
This session focuses on the following concepts:
How to lead campaigns in a manner that builds the power of the multi-racial working class, reflective of the values that we hold as a party and a movement in day-to-day operations.
Sharing guidance on reducing barriers, being more inclusive and modeling principles during campaigns that pivot away from the tendencies of racial capitalism.
