Payment Process

As of April 5, 2023

WordAgents uses Trolley to send direct deposit payments for work that has been confirmed as Completed (edited and delivered) in the assignment portal.

To start receiving payments, you need to set up a payment profile. Although we have an automated payment system we strongly recommend tracking your work and pay attention to when the article was marked Complete by the team.

We are adjusting our payment schedules to reflect changing conditions in the market and allow us the appropriate time to confirm completed work.

What that means for all of you that are freelance writers with WordAgents is as follows: 

• All work completed between March 16th and March 31st will still be paid out on April 10th. (Regularly scheduled.)
  
  

• As of April 1st, completed work (DEFINED AS: WORK ACCEPTED BY THE CLIENT) will be paid out on a net-30 basis. The reason for this is simply because:
  
  

  • There has been a significant uptick in writers not following client briefs/instructions - resulting in TOTAL RE-WRITES. (Upon review by our QA Team and upon review by clients - requesting total re-writes.)
    
    

  • There has been a significant uptick in writers not completing re-writes when they come back to them, and expecting to be compensated in full. Writers who claim work and use the WordAgents platform(s) agree to the Contactor Terms - which includes our Client Revision Policy.
    
    

• Work completed between April 1st and April 30th will be paid out on May 30th.
  
  

• Work completed between May 1st and May 31st will be paid out on June 30th.
  
  

• Work completed between June 1st and June 30th will be paid out on July 30th. 

Payment Discrepancies

If you believe there is an error in your payment, please fill out a Reconciliation Form as soon as possible.

Rates

WordAgents does not negotiate rates; please contact your Talent Manager with questions. 

An exception applies to projects involving an SEO Add-On, as confirmed by the specific project details/pay information on the order.  SEO Add-On orders require the use of SEO tools, such as Frase, Topic, SurferSEO, and others. A higher rate is offered.

The system displays a pay rate for each assignment. 

If you have questions about pay rates per project, or if an assignment's SEO Add-On status is unclear, please reach out to your editor or Manager via the order page (with a Message and a Question tag).

Word Counts

WordAgents only issues compensation for the specified word count as noted in the project details of your assignment. 

We do not compensate writers for any word overages that were not requested. 

Payment Profile Setup

You will receive an email from noreply@payments.wordagents.com that invites you to create a payment profile. Check your spam folder!

The payment profile requires both bank account information and a tax form. 

Please note that we cannot pay you until both the payment profile and tax form are complete.

Work Tracking

Because we have moved to an automated payment schedule you do not need request a payment or submit a tracking sheet.

We do, however, strongly recommend keeping track of your work and when it was marked "Complete" by our team.
