In our first lessons, string instrument students will learn:

• parts of our instruments

• proper instrument care (or how not to break your instrument)

• how to access materials on our Google Classroom

• how to set up our instruments for practice and put away our instruments safely

• how to hold our instruments properly and how to hold the bow with a relaxed bow hold 

• the names of our open strings, and how to pluck and play the open strings with the bow

• basic rhythms on open strings using the bow

• how to work together and play music as a group

• strategies for effective and consistent practice at home
