Team Fundraisers

Cow Chip Bingo
Students sell deeds to a bingo field. We walk the cow around until nature calls! The cow determines the winner! The event takes place in mid-late October. Funds raised are used for our operating fund. Our operating fund covers our day-to-day expenses, including, but not limited to, registration fees for tournaments, membership dues for OSDA and NSDA, script purchases, debate brief purchases, team celebrations, etc.

Homecoming
The team sponsors the Homecoming Dance at WHS. The dance takes place sometime in mid-late September or early October. We arrange the DJ, decorate the commons and the gym, chaperone, and sell concessions. Funds raised are used for our operating fund.

Wooster Tournament
We host one of the largest competitive tournaments in Ohio. Our tournament is in January. We draw from all over the state. We utilize 3 buildings for our tournament. Funds raised are used for our operating fund.

India Dinner
Enjoy an evening of Indian food with performances from some of our team members. Funds raised increase our Endowment Fund. The annual income from this special Endowment Fund partially supports National Tournament Expenses and camp scholarships.
(Note: we cannot touch the principal of the Endowment, we are only able to use the annual accrued income)

Team Orientation

Our team orientation is for team members and their families. This event is typically held in late August or early September, and it serves as a way for us all to provide information on the team to new and returning families.

Team members receive their annual team folder. This folder contains all of the information we cover at orientation:
Coaches
Code of Conduct
Team forms
Team fundraisers
Parent Association Officers and Contacts
OSDA and NSDA - what they mean and what they do
Tournament Schedule
Parent Meeting Schedule
and more!

If you were unable to attend Team Orientation, please reach out to the Parent Association President or one of the Coaches.

We recognize each student's achievement throughout the season, and we also present several special awards. We look forward to celebrating our students, our parents, and our coaches each year.

It is also a time for our senior team members to say their goodbyes.
