Coach Franck started coaching speech and debate in North Carolina in 2002. In 2008, he and his wife moved to Ohio where he began coaching as an assistant here at Wooster. From 2011-2018 he and Holly Custer served as co-head coaches. The team flourished and repeatedly placed in the top five at the OSDA State Tournament winning a state title in 2015.
The 2024-2025 school year marks Bill Franck's coaching return. Now serving as the Middle School Speech and Debate program director, coach Franck explains that his mission is to "instill a love of competitive speech in his student competitors." He adds, "These students have an opportunity to reign in a new era of excellence commensurate with the history and reputation of our storied program."
