All About Mrs. Snitcher

Welcome!

Read on to learn a little more about me...

First, I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our website!  I am excited about this school year and look forward to spending time with all of the children.  AND this is my 20th year of teaching!!!   Prior to coming to the Woodstown-Pilesgrove Regional School District, I was a teacher in the Swedesboro-Woolwich Township School District.  I taught Kindergarten for seven years, followed by five years in 2nd Grade, and then four more years as a basic skills instructor for 1st and 2nd gradersI taught there for 16 years and loved working with all of my students!  After COVID hit, I made a big change and started working at WPRSD.  In 2020-2021 I taught 4th grade at MSS, in the 2021-2022 school year I worked as an Achieve teacher at both WRS and MSS, but the majority of my time was spent with Kindergarten students. Last year I taught Kindergarten at MSS and I am excited to take all of my knowledge and help your child grow as a learner this year as their Kindergarten Teacher!

I also want to give you a little bit of information about myself...

I currently live in Woodstown, NJ with my husband, Alex, and our two boys, Zander, who is in 11th grade and Bradley, who is in 9th.  My husband and I both attended Woodstown High School - I guess we are a family of Wolverines!  We are also down to one pet - a dog named Ellie.

I have many different hobbies.  My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family.  I am also an avid reader and have been since I was a child; Mr. Snitcher got me a Kindle a long time ago and I love it. My favorite place to read is outside, whether in the shade in my backyard, at the lake, or by the ocean. This summer I read SO MANY books and am getting close to meeting my goal of reading 125 novels in 2023.   Our family is a big fan of Notre Dame Football.  Most of our weekend time is spent supporting the boys on sports fields and courts, whether it be soccer, football, basketball, or wrestling.

I was born and raised in Salem County.  I attended Rowan University and graduated summa cum laude in 2004 with my BA in Elementary Education and Sociology as well as my Reading Certification.  I became a Kindergarten Teacher in the Swedesboro-Woolwich School District in September 2004 and have been teaching ever since. I have enjoyed working with students from ages 4-11 and love teaching where I live - you never know when you'll see me around town!

I look forward to meeting everyone that I have the privilege of working with, students and families alike.  Until then, please continue to check out our class website for more information!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Sheena Snitcher
