First, I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our website! I am excited about this school year and look forward to spending time with all of the children. AND it's hard to believe but this is my 22nd year of teaching!!! Prior to coming to the Woodstown-Pilesgrove Regional School District, I was a teacher in the Swedesboro-Woolwich Township School District. I taught Kindergarten for seven years, followed by five years in 2nd Grade, and then four more years as a basic skills instructor for 1st and 2nd graders. I taught there for 16 years and loved working with all of my students! After COVID hit, I made a big change and started working at WPRSD. In 2020-2021 I taught 4th grade at MSS, in the 2021-2022 school year I worked as an Achieve teacher at both WRS and MSS, but the majority of my time was spent with Kindergarten students. The past years I taught Kindergarten at MSS and I am excited to take all of my knowledge and help your child grow as a learner this year as their Kindergarten Teacher!
I also want to give you a little bit of information about myself...
I currently live in Woodstown, NJ with my husband, Alex, and our two boys, Zander, who just graduated from WHS, and Bradley, who is in 11th. Zander is newly employed at the William Roper School as a paraprofessional and Bradley is on the football and wrestling teams. My husband and I both attended Woodstown High School - I guess we are a family of Wolverines! We are also down to one inside pet - a dog named Ellie - as well as several chickens that were my Mother's Day Gift one year.
Family is very important to me and my favorite thing to do is spend time with them. I am also an avid reader and have been since I was a child; Mr. Snitcher got me a Kindle a long time ago and I love it. My favorite place to read is outside, whether in the shade in my backyard, at the lake, or by the ocean. This summer I read SO MANY books and am getting close to meeting my goal of reading 125 novels in 2025. Our family is a big fan of Notre Dame Football, so in the fall on Saturdays we are most likely watching college football together. Don't worry - we also love the Eagles and Phillies too.
I was born and raised in Salem County. I attended Rowan University and graduated summa cum laude in 2004 with my BA in Elementary Education and Sociology as well as my Reading Certification. I became a Kindergarten Teacher in the Swedesboro-Woolwich School District in September 2004 and have been teaching ever since. I have enjoyed working with students from ages 4-11 and love teaching where I live - you never know when you'll see me around town! In fact, please share with me any special events your child has coming up - whether a dance recital, sports game, or scout presentation - I would love to support them outside of school!
I look forward to meeting everyone that I have the privilege of working with, students and families alike. Until then, please continue to check out our class website for more information!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Sheena Snitcher
