Tamarisk

The Tamarisk is an invasive tree ranging from 8-16 feet tall. The Tamarisk tree has thick thickets and absorbs most water from other plants, discouraging the growth of surrounding plants. Tamarisk is harmful because it absorbs water from species that feed organisms, such as cacti and succulents. These plants competing for water are an example of competition.
