In this topic we learned about the ways we are all similar and the ways we are different. We learned about different families and traditions and talked about our own families.

We will be going on a walk around the school field and our Forest School area to look for signs of Autumn. We will share books about the Autumn and make Autumnal art and crafts.

We will learn about the Hindu festival of Diwali. We will sing songs, learn some dances, share special food and make Diwali crafts.

We will be learning about what happens at night; people who work at night, the night sky and some of the different animals that are nocturnal. 

We will be learning about cultural and personal events such as; birthdays, Bonfire Night, Eid and Christmas to help children understand different beliefs and values.

We read the story of The Gingerbread Man and then made our own gingerbread men to eat!

We will learn about how people celebrate Christmas and the Christmas story.

We will enjoy our first trip to the local Church and performed in our first Christmas concert in the big hall!

We will learn about the different animals that roamed the Earth millions of years ago and how they are similar to and different from animals that live on Earth today. 

We will read the story of the Chinese Zodiac and learn about how people celebrate the Lunar New Year.

We will be observing the changes that happen during the spring, including weather and the festivals that are celebrated at this time of year.

We will walk around the school looking for signs of Spring.

We will learn about how all living things grow and change. We will observe the life cycles of plants, butterflies and chicks.

We will remember and talk about our year in Nursery and reflect on how we have grown and changed.

We will be ready to move on to our new class!
