Many students expressed that they had no idea Banned Books week existed, or had no idea their favorite titles had been widely banned in the United States. As students, we should advocate for our right to read what we choose. Teachers choose certain novels in which they believe their students should read, usually to learn and gain something from the importance and significance of its content. This is never done with ill intent, if students are of-age to comprehend the situations, problems and overall content within these books, they should be allowed to read them.
