Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to a brand-new academic year! I hope you all enjoyed a peaceful and restful summer break with family and friends.
It has been an absolute joy watching the children return through the school gates this week. Walking through the corridors and visiting classrooms, I have been deeply impressed not only by how smart our pupils look, but especially by their bright smiles and positive attitudes. Their energy, enthusiasm for learning, and excitement at reconnecting with friends have created a wonderful atmosphere across the entire school.
A sincere thank you to all our parents and carers for your hard work in preparing the children for such a smooth start. We know that establishing morning routines, getting uniforms sorted, and building first-day confidence take significant effort at home—your support makes all the difference.
This term, we are eager to build on what makes Wood End Primary such a special community. Guided by our core values—to dream, believe, achieve, show kindness, and belong—we carry these principles out every day through our three school rules: READY, RESPECTFUL & SAFE
Seeing our pupils step straight back into these values—whether helping a younger classmate find their coat peg or diving into a new challenge—reminds us of how much potential this year holds.
We have a vibrant and rewarding term ahead. Strong communication and partnership between home and school are vital to ensuring every child thrives, so please keep an eye out for upcoming year group curriculum newsletters, key event dates, and after-school club details.
Thank you once again for your ongoing commitment and partnership. Here’s to a fantastic, happy, and successful year ahead for all our children!
Kind regards,
Mr Warner Stainbank
Thank you to all that sponsered Mr Stainbank and Mr Best on their GymRace last week. We have received many donations which will all go towards the school. Below is the link for our Amazon wish list if you would like to help : https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/2XGW84I2PCPB3?ref_=wl_share
This weekend a team of 25 parents, teaching staff (including staff from Wood End Primary School - Mrs Patel, Mrs Sturge, Mrs Jerome, Mr Best and Mr Stainbank) and therapists will be participating in the Thames Path Challenge running, jogging or walking between 25-100 km all to raise much needed funds for the Schools Counselling Partnership (SCP).
Their provision offers support for the most vulnerable children, young people and families who are unable to access support elsewhere or may have to wait a very long time before they get the help that they need.
Last year the Schools Counselling Partnership, in our Ealing schools, supported
6553 children/young people accessed their drop in service
177 children/young people received long term psychotherapy
1035 children/young people accessed group therapy
Please please help us keep this much needed service in our schools by donating anything that you can afford to: https://gofund.me/23ffe0f74 To register simply click HERE.

Welcome back! To start the year, a quick reminder of what "safeguarding" actually means at Wood End: it's simply about keeping your child safe, healthy and happy — at school, online, and at home.
Every member of staff has a responsibility to look out for children's wellbeing, and we work closely with families to make sure the right support is in place, whenever it's needed.
This year, national safeguarding guidance for schools (Keeping Children Safe in Education) has been updated, and we've reviewed our own policies and practice to reflect it. Nothing changes about our approach — safeguarding is everyone's job, and it works best as a partnership between school and home.
Each week, this space will share short, practical tips to support your child's safety and wellbeing. We're glad to have you with us.
Kind regards,
Chris Best
A very warm welcome to all our new and returning EYFS families! The children have made a wonderful start to Nursery and Reception this week, and we are so proud of how well they have settled in.
The beginning of a new school year can bring lots of different emotions for both children and parents. Our priority is helping the children feel happy, safe and secure as they get to know their new adults, friends, classrooms and routines.
Don’t worry if your child comes home tired, emotional or doesn’t tell you much about their day just yet. There is a lot for little minds to take in, and settling in takes time.
Supporting your child: Keep routines calm and predictable, encourage plenty of sleep and talk positively about school.
A question to try: Instead of asking “What did you do today?”, try “What made you smile today?” or “Who did you play with?” — you might get a little more information!
Reminder: Please remember to send your child to school with their book bag and water bottle everyday.
We have welcomed our new students in Beech and Willow Reception class and they have all been brillant!

Welcome back to school! As we settle into daily routines, our focus remains on nurturing a warm, inclusive community where every child and family feels seen, valued, and supported.
What does Inclusion mean?
In a school setting, Inclusion goes beyond shared physical classrooms; it means adapting teaching practices, removing learning barriers, and ensuring every child receives the tailored support they need to thrive alongside their peers. True inclusion recognises that every child learns differently and creates a school culture where diverse strengths are celebrated, individual needs are met, and every student feels they truly belong.

A billion good meals go to waste every year. We work with supermarkets, restaurants, wholesalers, manufacturers, farmers and charities to get surplus food where it’s needed most across all four nations of the UK. Felix is a charity was started in 2016 by Justin and Jane Byam Shaw in memory of their son Felix, who died suddenly from meningitis, aged just 14. It grew rapidly to become London’s largest food redistribution charity.
Food items will be delivered to Wood End Primary School every Thursday afternoon. Save food from going to waste.
