Goodbye Mrs Campbell
Sadly we say goodbye to Mrs Campbell after 26 years at Wood End. I would like to thank her for all her hard work and dedication over the years. It is going to be very difficult to replace her as she has covered many different areas across the school, from leading our Wood End Activity Passport and Christmas Fairs, supporting children with dyslexia, supporting individual children, teaching classes, helping with residential trips and many more.
We are all going to miss her and wish her well for the future as she relocates to Somerset!
Friends of Wood End Primary School
If you would like to become a valued member of the Friends of Wood End Primary School team please email the school office on admin@woodendprimaryschool.com We hope to recruit an active group of parents who will be able to work with staff in delivering special events and fundraising.
Year 1 Phonics
Year 1 children will have their Year 1 Phonics assessments in the next two weeks please make sure that the children have plenty of sleep and arrive to school on time every day.
Ace Adventures - Year 5
Year 5 children will take part in Ace adventures next week on the 15th and 16th June 2023. If you have not returned your signed medical forms please do so by Monday. If you have not signed up for this trip please contact the school office by Monday.
Charity Work- Dhanya from Year 5 took part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2023 at the end of May. Dhanya ran 5km in the beautiful Scottish city of Edinburgh along with hundreds of other people raising money for charities such as Cancer Research and British Heart foundation. Dhanya's dad cheered her on whilst also running the race. Mum and Dad are very proud of her achievement and all the training she did beforehand really helped, including taking part in park run on the weekends. Dhanya raised an amazing £400 and has a lovely medal to remind her of the day. The medal is inscribed with the wise words we should all remember:

2 Elm Class Assembly - Thursday 15th June 2023 at 9am, Parents/Carers of children in Elm class are all welcome - Topic Learning Friends.
Elm Class children should come into school at 8.35am on Thursday to get ready for assembly.
Father's Day Card - If you would like to help your child/children make a card for Dad, Grandad or Uncle please come along on Friday 16th June between 2pm to 3pm. No previous experience required in glueing and sticking! Nursery AM parents/carers can come into nursery at 10am.
Last Day of Summer Term - We are now in the last term of the year and we have had to schedule some building works to be ready for September so the last day for the children will now be Wednesday 19th of July 2023.
Uniform - If you have any Wood End Primary School Uniform that is in good condition please donate it to the school so parents can take advantage of the pre-loved items. Thank you
