Book Fair Competition

We had an amazing turn out for our Book Fair 'Design a book cover' competition. Hundreds of entries came in and 5 talented artists and writers got a voucher worth £5 to spend at the fair. The more books that are sold the more books the school can order for our library.

International Afternoon for Nursery, Reception,
Year 1, 2 and 3.

Chicken Dumplings, Palou rice, Polish Bigos, Yemen dates, Jamaican spice cake, Hot Cross Buns were just some of the delicious food that was brought into school to share with other parents and children.  International day is always a happy tummy filling day as food is possibility the most popular way to be introduced to someone else's traditions and cultures.  Thank you to all those that attended and all those amazing cooks that contributed, many people said how much they enjoyed trying foods they never had before.

We recognise the distressing news recently may have had a significant impact on yourself, your family, friends and many within your school community.   Your family will be affected both directly and indirectly by the news, maybe knowing someone who has died or been hurt in the conflict, or maybe be triggered by past experiences or for your children hearing the news. Talking about death, dying and violent attacks can be terrifying.

I am attaching a link, from UNICEF, about how to talk to your children about conflict and war which I thought might be useful for your newsletters.
