Having a fun bouncing around!
Despite having limited practice due to the hot weather the previous week the children enjoyed their first sports day.
Lovely to see the Mums and Dads taking part too!.
Some amazing egg balancing skills from Years Key stage 1 and key stage 2.
Children had to master and complete a variety of races around the field. Everyone did amazing and won valuable team points for their house team.
Thank you to all families that took purchased tickets for our Summer Raffle. the lucky 18 winners include: Olaf in Year 4 winning first prize and Halima in year 1 winning a camping set well done.
Special thank you to all those that donated vouchers and gifts such as, The Greenwood Hotel, Vogue Hairdressers, Cafe Express, The Codfather, Tescos and individual donations from our Governor, Mr Jones and Mrs Sembi our playleader who provided some much needed refreshments. Final total raised this year will be annouced next week.
Every year we encourage children from Year 3 to Year 6 to log their extra-curricular learning/activities on an Activity Passport purchased from school. We tallied up the hours and we celebrated all the hard work and hours put in by the children by a end of year Graduation. Some very proud parents came along to watch the children being awarded Awards, Certificates, Diplomas or Degrees. A special congratulations to Rishan in year 6 and Mia in Year 4 who accumulated over 1000 hours this year.
Following last month's article on keeping children safe online, many parents asked: "But what do I actually say?"
The most important thing is to keep the door open. Children who accidentally stumble across something disturbing or upsetting need to know they can tell you without getting into trouble. A simple "if you ever see something that worries or confuses you online, come to me and we'll sort it together" goes a long way.
When a child does come to you, resist the urge to react with alarm — your calm response determines whether they'll come back next time. Acknowledge their feelings first: "That sounds confusing/scary." Then ask open questions: "What did you think about it?"
Use everyday moments — a news story, a film scene — to spark conversations. You don't need to have all the answers. Staying curious alongside your child is far more powerful than having a scripted talk.
Mr Best
We had a fantastic time at Sports Day this week and were so proud of all the children for taking part with such enthusiasm, determination, and teamwork. It was wonderful to see them trying their best, cheering one another on, and enjoying being active together.
Events like Sports Day help children develop much more than physical skills. Through running, balancing, throwing, and team games, children build coordination, confidence, resilience, and an understanding of working together. Just as importantly, they learn that being active can be fun and enjoyable.
Regular physical activity plays an important role in children’s overall wellbeing. It helps to develop strength, balance, coordination, and concentration, while also supporting emotional wellbeing and boosting confidence.
At home, you might try: Encouraging active play through simple activities such as playing in the park, riding a bike or scooter, dancing to music, or creating an obstacle course in the garden or at home.

To ensure the safety of all our children, staff, and visitors, please note that electric scooters (e-scooters) are strictly prohibited inside the school building. While we love seeing our community use active travel, the large lithium-ion batteries that power e-scooters pose a severe, unpredictable fire risk. If these batteries fail or overheat, they can cause rapid, intense fires and release toxic smoke with absolutely no warning. Additionally, parking them in corridors or reception areas creates dangerous trip hazards and can block vital emergency exit routes. If your you ride an e-scooter to school, it must be left outside in the designated external racks and securely locked. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in helping us keep our school community safe.
Get ready to cheer on Mr Stainbank and Mr Best as they push their physical limits for a fantastic cause! On Saturday, 5th September 2026, our two brave staff members will be competing in the grueling Gymrace London to raise vital resources for our school. This intense fitness challenge will see them tackling everything from a 50m sled push, heavy dumbbell lunges, and rowing, to a brutal series of 1km runs. They are putting in the training, and we need your help to back them up! Fundraising
Join the Thames Path Challenge - Saturday 12 September! Parents, carers and school staff are warmly invited to take part in the Thames Path Challenge this September to raise vital funds for Schools Counselling Partnership (SCP).
Choose your challenge and take part your way — walk, jog or run: 25km 50km 100km
Every step will help raise essential funds so SCP can continue providing counselling support for our children. Registration is free - Schools Counselling Partnership will pay your registration fee.
Why we need your support
Children and young people are facing growing emotional pressures. Across England: Around 1 in 5 pupils are now identified as having SEND needs. Over 638,000 children currently have an EHCP, with numbers continuing to rise each year. Increasing numbers of children are accessing mental health services for anxiety, low mood, trauma and emotional distress.
Many children receive their first professional emotional support through counselling provided in school.
SCP supports children, young people, parents/carers and teaching staff in school, helping them manage anxiety, bereavement, family change, friendship difficulties and other challenges that can affect wellbeing and learning.
All you need to do is commit to fundraising — every pound raised helps us support more children in school. To register simply click HERE.
