Next week is Anti Bullying week. This is an opportunity to highlight bullying and consider the steps we can take to stop it happening. As parents we want our children to be happy, healthy, and safe.
As a parent you have a unique role to play in guiding your children through their school years and keeping them safe from bullying and harm. One important step is knowing where to go for support.  Below is a useful guide for parents from Kidscape that looks at what to do if your child is being bullied or also using bullying behaviours towards others. this is the English versions Top tips for parents and
carers (kidscape.org.uk) this is the Arabic version Arabic Top Tips Parents (kidscape.org.uk)

Sometimes we could all do with someone to talk to.  If you would like to meet Helen for a confidential and non-judgemental chat about you, your child, or any other worries, she is available on Wednesdays and Thursdays 9-10am. You can call/text Helen on 07429 654584 or email her at helen@schoolscounsellingpartnership.co.uk

Another chance for older year groups to celebrate our diverse school.  We are asking parents and staff to bring in a traditional dish to share with others.  This event last year was extremely  successful and parents got to taste some amazing dishes from all over the world. Children in year 4, 5 and 6 will also be allowed to wear their traditional clothes to school instead of school uniform.  Food can be delivered to the school office on the morning of the event. Please can you let the office know if you are able to  contribute and bring a dish to share on the day, either in person or via email admin@woodendprimaryschool.com Thank you in advance for bringing our families together we look  forward  to seeing you there.
