Your weekly round up of events in school and what's coming up

International Afternoon for Nursery, Reception,
Year 1, 2 and 3.

On Thursday 12th October 2023

2.30 pm to 4 pm

We have lots of new parents and children joining our school and we would like to give everyone the opportunity to socialise and make new connections whilst celebrating our wonderful diverse school.  We are asking parents and staff to bring in a traditional dish to share with others.  This event last year was extremely  successful and parents got to taste some amazing dishes and make new friends. Children will also be allowed to wear their traditional clothes to school instead of school uniform.
Food can be delivered to the school office on the morning of the event. Please can you let Mrs Brooks or Ms Nandra know if you are able to  contribute and bring a dish to share on the day, either in person or via email admin@woodendprimaryschool.com
Thank you in advance for bringing our families together we look  forward  to seeing you there.

Please note Year 4, 5 and 6 will have their own event in November.

Jeans for Genes Day.
Thank you to all those who took part and donated £1 toward the Charity. Wood End Primary School managed to raise a wonderful £355

Music lessons

BRASS LESSONS   (FOR PUPILS IN YEARS 3 TO 6)

BRASS tuition will be re-starting this week.  This tuition is open to pupils in Years 3 to 6. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to start instrumental music lessons. In the past many children have expressed an interest in learning to play an instrument. The current cost of tuition, which compares favourably with the cost of private lessons, is £50.00 (per term) payable online via Parent Mail. Those pupils who currently take Brass lessons and wish to continue, please log into Parent Mail and pay for this term. Brass instruments will be provided to pupils on hire and may consist of a Trumpet/Tenor/Horn/Euphonium.  The music teacher will assess all pupils initially and see which instrument they are most suited to.  Lessons usually take place in the afternoon on Thursdays.  Pupils MUST remember to bring their instrument to school on tuition days. If you would like your child to take up this opportunity, please complete payment online via pmx.parentmail.co.uk. Payment must be made before lessons can commence. Please note that Brass Club will begin on Thursday 21st September until Thursday 30th November 2023

COMMUNITY NEWS

We are so excited to announce the launch of Art Stops in Northolt!

In 2022, Ealing Council invited local creatives to submit their ideas to activate and celebrate public areas around Northolt through a series of temporary art installations. Four brilliant artists came forward and worked closely with the Visions for Northolt team to produce unique art murals that have now been installed across Northolt. These artworks capture their individual perspectives of the area and celebrate Northolt's diversity. We are also working hard to bring forward public art designed by local secondary school students in the near future!

Join us on Thursday 12th October 2023 from 5-6pm outside Northolt Leisure Centre, for an Artist-Led Walk to celebrate the launch of this project and hear more about their work. Sign up for free on Eventbrite: Visions for Northolt: Public Art Walk Tickets, Thu 12 Oct 2023 at 17:00 | Eventbrite.

Thank you.
