The Space

With SAT’s approaching, I am aware that this is a stressful time for some of our children. This may bring up a lot of worries for our children. Remember living a happy life doesn’t mean never feeling stressed or worried. We ALL feel those things sometimes. It’s natural and sometimes it’s even necessary to feel stressed for a SHORT time, to keep us safe. A healthy, happy life comes from NOTICING when you’re stressed or worried, and being able to DO SOMETHING to make you feel safe and calm again. NOTICE - where do I feel anxiety today? Is it in my brain? My heart? My tummy? My throat? My shoulders? Tell yourself, “That’s okay! My body’s getting me ready for something. Don’t worry body, we’re gonna be okay. We’ve got this.” Breathe deeply, focusing your calming breaths towards that body part.

Sometimes we could all do with someone to talk to.  If you would like to meet Helen for a confidential and non-judgemental chat about you, your child, or any other worries, she is available on Wednesdays and Thursdays 9-10am. You can call/text Helen on 07429 654584 or email her at helen@schoolscounsellingpartnership.co.uk

Fractons /decimals and cake

Year 6 Pine class
We finished studying fraction, decimals and ratio and used that knowledge to work out the amount of ingredients needed to make a carrot cake, Children grated the apples and carrots and mixed them with the remaining ingredients. Finally, the cakes were baked, tasted and ratio of ingredients discussed. The children enjoyed their YUMMY maths lesson this week!

Geography lesson
Hazel Class

This week, Year 1 have been looking at the world's 5 oceans. We spoke about how important the oceans are and what we can do to protect them. We then used various materials to create our own under the ocean scenes.
