Your weekly round up of events and what's coming up!
As we come to the end of this half term, it has been truly wonderful to have all of our children and staff together in one building. The new classrooms are proving to be a real hit, with children thoroughly enjoying their new learning environments. We’ve also been delighted to welcome so many parents and carers into school for workshops, events and class assemblies – your support means so much to us and to the children.
Playtimes and lunchtimes have been full of energy and joy, with the children fully engaging in the wide range of activities now available in the playground. The introduction of our OPAL programme has made a significant difference, helping to enrich these important parts of the school day.
It’s been heartening to hear from the children how much they enjoy coming to school, and seeing so many of them skipping through the gates each morning with smiles on their faces is a true highlight. Attendance continues to be vital – every day in school is a chance for your child to learn, play and build relationships with their peers. Let’s continue working together to ensure our children make the most of every opportunity.
Mr Stainbank
We were once again delighted by the tremendous success of our International event! A heartfelt thank you to all the families and staff who contributed such delicious dishes from across the globe. Your generosity and cooking skills truly united our school community and made the day unforgettable. Thank you for helping us celebrate our diversity in such a joyful and flavourful way.
Below is just a glimpse of the wonderful dishes and vibrant outfits we enjoyed on the day.
Our Early Years children were thrilled to welcome Hounslow Urban Farm for a special visit. The animals brought plenty of smiles and excitement, and many children showed great bravery by having a giant snake wrapped around them!
They learned all about farm life through this engaging, hands-on experience. It was a fantastic day filled with curiosity, wonder, and joy.
The children are having loads of fun! Yesterday they enjoyed a variety of activities and prepared some acts for Wood End's Got Talent for the evening; which took place after dinner (barbecue!) and around the fire pit - very exciting !
A message from the children - We aren't missing school! 😁
Children continued to learn all about the plant world. In one of their investigations they examined leaves from deciduous trees and traced the different shapes and sizes they found!
Our summer fair will take place next month and we are looking for parent volunteers that can help run stalls. If you are available to help please email the school office admin@woodendprimaryschool.com
We will need help from 2 to 4pm on the day.
Calling all creative parents! If you can do face painting or henna, we’d love to have you involved.

Parents are warmly invited to read with their child every Tuesday morning from 8:45 to 8:55am. (For Nursery PM, the session runs from 12:45 to 12:55pm.)
Sharing a book with an adult is one of the most powerful ways to support a child’s early development. It encourages bonding, builds language skills, and helps children understand stories, ideas, and emotions. Even a few minutes of one-to-one reading can make a big difference – and children love the special attention.
Please bring a bag to collect Felix food on a friday morning (8.45am-9am). Food is distributed from the DT room before the start of the school day. Please come along!
If you have any spare carrier bags, please drop them off at the office.
Thank you to all the parents that attended the SEN Coffee Morning. We have created a Padlet to centralise many of the SEN services which are available to parents and children. Please click HERE to access the SEN toolkit.
