Your weekly round up of events
As we approach the end of a very busy and productive Spring term, I would like to thank you for your continued support of the school and your children’s learning. It has been a pleasure to see the progress made across all year groups as we head into the Easter break.
While we know many of you are looking forward to a well-deserved rest and perhaps a trip abroad, we feel it is important to share a gentle reminder regarding the current global travel climate.
As you may be aware from recent news, international travel is currently experiencing significant unpredictability. Between the ongoing geopolitical instability affecting major transit hubs in the Middle East and the intermittent industrial actions/strikes we are seeing across European rail and aviation sectors, the risk of last minute disruptions is higher than usual.
Our primary goal is to ensure that every child is in the classroom, ready to learn, from the very first day of the new term. We understand that flight cancellations and delays are often beyond your control; however, we ask that you:
Check FCDO Advice: Please regularly review the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) guidance for your destination and any transit countries.
Build in a Buffer: If you are traveling to regions currently experiencing airspace volatility or transport strikes, please consider a contingency plan that ensures your child is back in time for the start of the Summer term.
Prioritise Term Dates: Every school day counts. Missing the end of this term or the start of the next due to avoidable travel risks has a direct impact on your child’s academic progress and social integration.
We want all our families to have a safe, relaxing, and most importantly uninterrupted holiday. By staying informed and mindful of the current global situation when booking, you help us keep the focus where it belongs, on your child’s education.
Please note the Summer Term begins on Tuesday 14th April.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain our high standards of attendance.
Lovely to see so many of you coming to make beautiful cards for Mothers Day. You made a lot of mummies very happy 💝

Neglect means a child’s basic needs — food, clothing, care, supervision or medical help — are not met. It can have serious long-term effects on health and learning.
Regular school attendance and good communication between home and school help us spot early signs and offer support quickly.
This week’s word is “frustrated.”
Frustrated is how we feel when something is tricky, doesn’t work the way we want, or takes a few tries to get right. It’s a very common feeling for young children, especially as they are learning new skills every day.
In EYFS, we help children learn words like frustrated so they can begin to talk about their feelings, rather than showing them through behaviour. When children can name how they feel, they are better able to manage those emotions.
You can support this at home in simple ways:
Name the feeling in the moment – “It looks like you’re feeling frustrated because that isn’t working yet.”
Link the feeling to the situation – “That puzzle is tricky — I can see why you might feel frustrated.”
Model what to do next – “When I feel frustrated, I take a deep breath and try again.”
Normalise the feeling – “It’s okay to feel frustrated — that means you’re learning something new.”
Encourage problem-solving – “What could we try next?” or “Shall we do it together?”
You might also spot opportunities during everyday routines — building with blocks, getting dressed, or drawing — to gently introduce and revisit the word.
The more children hear and use words like frustrated, the more confident they become in expressing themselves. This supports not only communication, but also behaviour, resilience, and overall wellbeing.
