There will also be a Dessert stall serving cakes and Ice cream on the day, if you wish to make a cake that we can sell please let the school office know. We have some amazing prizes for the raffle, tickets will be on sale at the school office from Monday 8th June.
There will be lots of games, toy stalls and food stalls for parents and children to enjoy. Please note the School will close for all children at 1.30pm on Friday 19th June. Please collect your child at 1.30pm and if you live close by return at 2pm and come to the Wood End Primary School Fair.
Thank you to all the parents who have been clearing out their old toys and kitchen items and bringing them in. The children have a whole lot of new pans and toys to play with. As you can imgaine with over 400 children in school we are always in need of fresh supplies of items for our Opal Playground, so please keep us in mind when you are decluttering. Please check out our poster for items we need most.
At the end of term if you would like to donate any school uniform your child has grown out off please drop it into the office or medical room. Thank you.
The children attended the Ace Adventures trip two weeks ago and had a fantastic time. When asked about their favourite part of the trip, they said trying archery for the first time, enjoying the exciting Crest Go-Kart ride, conquering the rock-climbing wall, and even waking their teacher up at 4:00 a.m.!
The most popular choice for the worst part of the trip was an unexpected visitor—a spider in the shower block—which many of the children agreed was the least enjoyable thing of an otherwise memorable experience that they would definitely do again.
Just a few pictures of some beautiful colourful traditional outfits worn today today (friday). Wearing traditional clothes helps celebrate and express their culture, identity.
Building Stamina for Learning
As children grow, they gradually develop the ability to focus on activities for longer periods of time. In EYFS, we support this through engaging, meaningful experiences that encourage children to stay involved, think deeply, and persevere when things become challenging.
You may notice that your child is becoming more absorbed in activities such as building, drawing, puzzles, stories, or imaginative play. This growing ability to concentrate is an important part of their development and helps prepare them for future learning.
Learning stamina is not about sitting still for long periods. Instead, it is about staying engaged, returning to a task after a setback, and developing the confidence to keep trying when something feels tricky.
At school, we celebrate effort and perseverance, helping children understand that learning often takes time and practice.
At home, you might try: Encouraging your child to complete small tasks before moving on to something else and praising their effort rather than just the finished result.
Give it a go: Choose an activity your child enjoys, such as a puzzle, construction activity, or drawing project, and encourage them to stick with it a little longer than usual. Celebrating their determination helps build confidence and resilience.

Many parents enjoy sharing family milestones and achievements online, but it's worth considering what information is being shared about children and who can see it. Photos can reveal school uniforms, locations, routines and personal information without us realising.
Before posting, consider who will be able to view the image in the future and whether your child would be happy for it to remain online as they grow older. Reviewing privacy settings regularly and being selective about what is shared can help protect children's digital footprints.
