My name is Ms. Scherdel, and I am honored to be joining the fourth-grade team this year. I am a proud graduate of The College of New Jersey, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a concentration in Psychology in 2024. This is my second year in the classroom; last year, I taught first grade, and I am eager to bring that experience with me as I begin teaching fourth grade.
My professional background includes a range of experiences working with children, such as participating in the ESY summer program, student teaching, tutoring, babysitting, and, most importantly, teaching. Having grown up in Wood-Ridge and attended the Wood-Ridge school system myself, it is especially meaningful to return to this community as an educator.
I am deeply passionate about fostering both academic growth and personal development in my students. I believe in the importance of social-emotional learning and in providing differentiated instruction to support the diverse needs of all learners. My goal is to create a classroom environment where students feel respected, encouraged, and empowered to reach their full potential.
I look forward to a successful and rewarding school year together!
