For Mentees

We look forward to welcoming you!

What is a mentorship program?

A mentorship program connects you, a mentee, with an individual more experienced than you to receive guidance in your personal and professional life. Through the mentorship program, you will connect with a mentor. She will share her experiences, help you build your skills, and introduce you to other people in their network who match your interests.

What can I expect once I complete the form to sign up?

Great news! Make sure you subscribe with a functional email and keep an eye on your inbox for the approval email. After your approval email, you will receive invitations to the Mentee kick-off and the Program kick-off. These events are scheduled in advance and will provide you with all the information you need.

How do I pick my mentor?

On April 30th, the Program will be kicked off with a Speed Networking event. Mentors and Mentees will have the opportunity to meet each other. Afterward, everyone will complete a form where they rank who they would like to be paired with. At this point, you also have the opportunity to let us know if you would prefer to meet someone in your time zone to make future meetings easier.

Will meetings be during my school/work hours?

We will do our best to ensure everyone can attend the kick-off and final meetings. Womenful Voice is lucky to have mentors in countries with time zones, but this does not make one-on-one mentorship meeting scheduling difficult.

The group mentorship program will take place every Saturday at 2 PM so that it won’t be during your school hours.

When it comes to one-on-one mentorship meetings - you are responsible for scheduling these calls during a time when you can attend, so be sure to communicate clearly to take full advantage of this program.

Do I have to meet once a week?

Yes, for the group mentorship program, if you want to participate in the one-on-one mentorship program.

When it comes to one-on-one mentorship meetings - you are responsible for scheduling the meetings. Work with your mentor and coordinator to understand how often and when you would like to meet. We recommend once a week for one hour but use your discretion.

Will I have to present?

All mentees will present their experience at the finale on a few slides. Don't worry; this is a light, super fun virtual event where you have the opportunity to put into practice all you have learned.

How does the mentorship program works?

Our Mentorship program has two parts, a group mentorship and a one-on-one mentorship. The group mentorship attendance is required to qualify for the one-on-one mentorship group.

Our mentorship group will be held once a week with mentors from different countries and professions. Those four sessions will provide you with the essential tools to start your professional life and enable you for the second part of the mentorship program. We will have live and in-person mentorship groups, but the one-on-one depends on your mentor.

Our second part of the mentorship program will be a one-on-one session where each mentee will be paired with a mentor for their dream career. The mentee is responsible for the subject for the session, and the mentor guides the session.

After completing the program, the mentee will present five slides of PowerPoint maximum explaining her experience.

What to do to qualify in the second part?

You are responsible for qualifying for the mentorship program. It is easy to be qualified; discipline and dedication are the little needed to succeed and be who you want to be. Who you want to be is the goal. If you do the following throughout the group mentorship, you are qualified for the one-on-one mentorship:

  • Arrive on time

  • Ask question
