STRETCH Program

Services To Reach Educationally Talented Children

STRETCH Overview

The STRETCH program supports students by providing opportunities to study a subject in-depth, at a faster pace, and/or at an advanced level with a higher degree of complexity and challenge.

When you are learning, important changes take place in your brain, including the creation of new connections between your neurons. This phenomenon is called neuroplasticity. The more you practice, the stronger these connections become.

About the Teacher

I am happy to be here in this wonderful learning community! Everyone has been so welcoming and kind. I have been a Gifted and Talented teacher for 23 years, and I enjoy helping students feed their passions and curiosity.

I graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from the University of Southern Maine. I also received my Gifted and Talented certification from the University of Southern Maine. I always knew I wanted to help students grow in their learning as I fully understand the nature and beauty of a curious mind. My 35 years of teaching in a traditional or multiage classroom at almost every grade and as a Gifted and Talented teacher have served me well.

Cooking and being outside in nature are some of my favorite hobbies. I am an avid reader, and I enjoy spending time with my husband, four kids, two pups, and two cats.
