Homework is sent home on Monday and due on Friday. The homework includes weekly spelling words and a reading log. Reading logs will require parent/guardian signatures. It is important to get students into the habit of doing their homework. 

There will be no homework on Fridays. 

A marble jar is used to reward positive behavior in our class. Each time students exhibit positive behavior or get a compliment from another staff member, a marble is placed in the jar. Once the jar is filled, the class earns a group reward! 

Hi! My name is Kate Tufts! I have loved teaching at Wells Elementary School and being part of the amazing WOCSD community! 

I am passionate about making sure that each one of my students feels safe and supported in my classroom.  

I currently live in Portland but grew up in Wells. Fun fact: My entire family (parents included) went through the Wells school system! Outside of school, you can find me enjoying the beach with a good book, going to my camp on Mousam Lake, and spending time with family & friends.
