EVENTS
WNY APA holds a number of exciting events each year!
Tours of local landmarks such as Larkinville and the Hydraulics neighborhood, the Richardson Olmsted Complex, the inside of a grain elevator, Canalside, and Frank Lloyd Wright's Darwin Martin House.
Dinner seminars and panel discussions on topics such as preservation of the Williamsville Mill, planning for the South Buffalo Brownfield Opportunity Area, and the Erie Niagara Framework for Regional Growth.
Webinars on court cases, planning law, brownfields redevelopment, and community planning issues.
Mixers between professional planners and students as well as events co-sponsored with allied professional organizations like the American Society of Landscape Architects and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
We also help promote lectures at the University at Buffalo and events around the region for continuing education credits required for membership in the American Institute of Certified Planners. We sponsor lectures, host networking events, organize tours, facilitate professional development opportunities, and hold an annual awards dinner recognizing outstanding planning in WNY!
Our typical calendar of events includes:
February/March student mixer
May awards dinner banquet
July mid-summer outdoor event
September/October students/professionals mixer
Other informal networking events
We also help promote other events that may be of interest to our members. Click below to see some of the many interesting events taking place around the region.
