Summer Camp F.A.Q.

Q: How much does summer camp cost?

A: $120 per child per week, or $110 per child per week for siblings

-------------------------

Q: I don't think I can afford summer camp, what can I do?

A: We are committed to making summer camp accessible and affordable for our students.

    • if your child is referred for tutoring, the academic morning portion of camp is free.
    • if you qualify for free/reduced lunch, camp is free
    • check out our financial assistance options here

-------------------------

Q: What if I only want my child(ren) to attend for certain weeks?

A: Priority will be given to students who sign up for 3 weeks or more. Research shows that summer programs that only last a week or 2 do not help kids prevent academic regression. We want your children to get the most out of our program!

-------------------------

Q: I only want my child(ren) to attend for the academic mornings, is that OK?

A: Yes!

-------------------------

Q: I only want my child(ren) to attend for certain days of the week, is that OK?

A: We ask that families do not pick and choose which days they want to attend in order to help us plan appropriately and so that children get the full benefit of camp. We charge by the week, not the day. Of course we understand that sometimes absences are necessary, and we can be flexible. Taking days off will not affect the cost of camp, however.

-------------------------

Q: What's the deal with the weekly themes?

A: Each week we focus on a theme, which is integrated into our work and play and inspires our field trips. Examples of past themes include Outer Space, Amazing Animals, The Wonders of Water, Theatre, Cooking and Gardening

-------------------------

Q: I want to get involved! What are my options?

A: We love volunteers! You will need to come to the school for a background check if you would like to volunteer for summer camp or the Westminster Afterschool Program. Have an idea for a weekly theme, field trip, project or event? We want to hear about it! Here's our contact info.

-------------------------

Q: Who will be caring for my children while they are at camp?

A: Our dedicated staff includes licensed teachers, experienced paraprofessionals, caring community members, school staff, and outside professionals. We require background checks for all staff members and volunteers. Many of our staff members work directly with our students during the school day as well as at the Afterschool Program.
