WMSU-ILS

Western Mindanao State University is a state-run university located in Zamboanga City.

The university had its humble beginnings in 1904 during the American generals first took over the school administration but by 1914, Raymond Stephens, a civilian, became its principal.  The Institution was also renamed to Provincial Normal School around this time wherein its mission then was to be a teacher training ground for Western Mindanaoans. During the World War II, it closed and became a field hospital.

ZNHS-WEST

The Zamboanga National High School West, a public school, is located on R.T. Lim Boulevard, Zamboanga City, adjacent to the Joaquin F. Enriquez Jr. Memorial Sports Complex.  It is a ten-minute ride from the city hall. The total area is 9,750 square meters.

ZNHS West was established  on June 30, 1986, upon its foundation, Ms. Caridad C. Guanzon had taken the helm since then. The school in its early years  had served as an extension of the Zamboanga City High School (Main). the creation of the former paved the way in decongesting the old high school.
