The Jonesboro bus ran into some traffic troubled on its way to West Memphis Thursday, but that's where the problems ended for the Hurricane.
Jonesboro posted two soccer victories over the Blue Devil clubs at Hamilton-Shultz Field, winning the girls game 6-0 and the boys game 8-0.
Construction back-up along with an automobile accident delayed Thursday's game nearly two hours, but the games were played nonetheless.
The Lady Devils played a near-perfect first half against a team they'd already lost to earlier in the season, finding themselves down only 1-0. But the Lady Hurricane came up with a big second half with five goals.
"We played hard," said Lady Devils head coach Reid Dempster. "Just couldn't keep up the momentum in the second half. That's about as good as we've played this year in the first half, though."
In the boys game, the Blue Devils fell behind early and Jonesboro never let up.
West Memphis, however, got a standout game from goalkeeper Matthew Wigginton.
