MMS Eagle Report for Families

#SOARASONE
Our SOL testing continues this week. We will be doing retakes and make-ups.
The last day of school for the 2024/2025 school year is Thursday, May 22, 2025, and it is an early release day.
As we reach the last day of the school year, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership and support. It’s been an incredible year of learning, growth, and community, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
Our students have shown how when they put their mind to it they can accomplish great things. I also want to acknowledge the dedication of our teachers and staff, who have worked tirelessly to create a positive and inspiring environment for every child.
As we head into summer, I encourage everyone to take time to rest, recharge, and enjoy family moments. Keep reading, stay curious, and explore the world around you — learning doesn’t stop when school does!
We look forward to welcoming our students back for the 2025/2026 school year on August 11, 2025, ready for another exciting year.
Wishing you a safe, fun, and restful summer break!
Janet Garland, Principal
Montross Middle School
Mark your calendars for back to school open house day - see the schedule below.
8th Grade Parents,
Our 8th grade promotion ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in the gymnasium at Montross Middle School. Each student will receive five (5) tickets for his/her guests. Tickets will be distributed to 8th grade students at school on Monday, May 19, 2025, during their first block class.
Attendance Incentives (4/7 - 5/22)
We will hold contests where student names will be placed in drawings for prizes, homerooms (per grade level) with the highest percentage of students will get prizes (for all students present over a period of 1 week), and Eagle Bucks will be awarded.
Which grade level will have the highest rate of perfect attendance?
Good luck Eagles!
We have a quick update about this year's yearbooks. Due to a slight delay, we expect to receive them in about two weeks.
But no worries! Instead of mailing them out, we'll arrange a pick up day during Summer Academy and will also have them available at MMS. We can't wait to see you and give you your yearbook in person!
You can still purchase your yearbook at Go Fan - get yours today.
Thanks for your patience and support!

Thank you to Garner's Produce for partnering with MMS to build a memory garden. We are appreciative of the support. Thank you for working with our students to education them on all things landscaping. Our students were so proud of the finished product.
